Actor Therapy enjoys a collaborative relationship with NYC’s premiere cabaret spot and supper club, 54 Below. After a student participates in regular Actor Therapy, they become eligible for an invitation to sing in one of our Student Showcase concerts. Students who take multiple sessions of AT are eligible for our “Musicals in Concert” series—featuring a full cast & live band performing the full score of favorites like Legally Blonde, 35MM: A Musical Exhibition, Spring Awakening and Hair.

SPRING AWAKENING in Concert
On May 9th, 2019, Actor Therapy took to the stage at 54 Below singing the beloved score of Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater’s rock musical SPRING AWAKENING. Directed by award-winning composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver (35mm, Darling) & AT’s Director of Events Mathieu Whitman, the show featured 35 fabulous ACTOR THERAPY students & alumni performing alongside a 4-piece band led by musical director Matthew Lowy (Beetlejuice on Broadway, A Chorus Line international tour).

HAIR in Concert
On November 22nd, 2019, Actor Therapy returned to the stage at 54 Below singing the groovy score of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, with lyrics by Jerome Ragni & James Rado, and music by Galt MacDermot. Directed by AT’s Director of Events Mathieu Whitman (Spring Awakening in Concert) alongside award-winning composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver (Three Points of Contact, 35MM, Darling), the show featured 36 fabulous ACTOR THERAPY students & alumni performing alongside a 4-piece band led by musical director Joshua Zecher-Ross (Be More Chill).

35MM: A MUSICAL EXHIBITION - The 10th Anniversary Concert
On July 5th, 2022, Actor Therapy returned to the stage at 54 Below with the 10th Anniversary Concert of 35MM: A Musical Exhibition, with music and lyrics by 2023 Kleban Prize Winner Ryan Scott Oliver, based on the photographs of Matthew Murphy. Directed by RSO himself, alongside AT Director of Event’s Mathieu Whitman, the show featured 38 fabulous ACTOR THERAPY students & alumni performing alongside a 6-piece band led by musical director Joshua Zecher-Ross (Once Upon a One More Time, Be More Chill).
